Bassett horn
Born on 24th July 1964. Studied with G. Schönfeldinger at the Oberschützen branch of the Graz Music Academy gaining his diploma in 1990.
1992 - 2003 Lecturer at the the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz, Division Oberschuetzen.
He is now himself on the staff of the Graz Music Academy and the specialist music school in Oberschützen. After having played in the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Claudio Abbado in 1987 and 1988 he started working regularly with the Austrian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Volksoper and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. Playing the basset-horn he has made countless guest appearances with a many renowned chamber music groups. He was a founder-member of trio clarin and consequently a frequent visitor at many various European music festivals.
As a member of Folke Tegetthoff’s touring band he also set two of Tegetthoff’s books to music - „Alles Maerchen”" and „Der Muehlenelf”.
His wide-ranging talents and great stylistic flexibility have made him into a much sought-after studio musician. He has played Frank Zappa with "Chris der Berg und die Unverbrauchten" and appears frequently with the Austrian Folk-Blues band “Drumherum”. He has also worked on CD productions with the Irish pop singer Zena.
